The pattern calls for "Challis, tissue faille, and rayon blends."

Not exactly easy to find.
Well, I DID find some yellow challis, and some hideously loud floral patterned challis. Nice feel, but---yuck.

And I dont understand the part about the 'tissue faille.' I thought faille was stiff. This pattern needs to be a little drapey and the top has a significant amount of soft gathers.

Can you suggest any similar fabrics I could use for this pattern:

Fashion Fabric Club challis search

I think the key is the word "tissue" in front of the word "faille", which would be a less stiff fabric than the home-dec faille that I normally think of. (Actually, I can't say I think of faille much at all; not a fabric I've used.) Don't know where you would actually get that fabric.

I think pique would be nice for this pattern. Pique does need to have a seam finish as it does ravel. A new shipment just landed at my Hancocks.

That's a lovely pattern. I think any drapey blouse-weight would be nice.

There are some nice drapey linen/rayon blends out there that might work.

That is such a pretty pattern. I agree, any drapey blouse weight would be pretty as long as it isn't too light.

the key is soft. Challis is a soft fabric, ie it drapes well. While looking for fabric gather some in your hand and see if it falls softley or stiffly.

tissue faille is very drapey. It's very densely woven, moreso than rayon challis, but has about the same characteristics for draping as a rayon challis.
Faille is an ottoman weave that comes in many different weights. Tissue faille was readily available when I was in high school and college, not so much anymore.
check ebay right now, http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&satitle=tissue faille
there is a seller whose got some silk tissue faille that she's selling off. I'm v tempted.
