Do I add trims after the finished product or before? I saw in the book, The Art of Manipulating Fabric, that when the trims were attached to it I only saw one stitch line on the front of the fabric. I did not see a blind hem stitch anywhere. But if I put on the trims after the finished product there would be two stitch lines. A blind hem stitch line and the regular stitch line (the one attached from the trims to the fabric). I really don't know how to add trims without the blind hem stitch sewing. I just want to add the trim where there is one stitch line showing in the front. I have no idea how to add it on before the finished product either. According to directions on some Truly Victorian patterns (I'm working on them now) it says to add the trims after the blind hem stitch I suppose. I don't know how to do it without the blind hem stitch showing. What do you do? I have no idea. Please help.

Oh yeah after I hem (1 inch) the fabric, wouldn't there be no more seam allowances to attach to the trim? How do I avoid this?

Fasttimes, I think that in order to get an answer you need to be more specific about what type of trim you're wanting to add to what type of garment.
Is it an insertion piping (something that gets inserted by a flange into a seamline)? is it lace on a hem? is it a braid trim that gets sewn on to the edges of a jacket?
What specifically are you making, and what does the trim look like? That will help anyone here answer your question.
