I am writing to strongly urge everyone who has a chance to take a class with Connie Amaden-Crawford to just do it. I just finished a 4 day class with her in Michigan and I learned so much about patterns and fit! I am tall (5'11") and a plus size gal (52-47-52). I was the class demo person for a pair of pants. She measured and drafted a pant pattern in class and I took it home and sewed it up that night. The next day I pulled them on and they fit like a glove. She made a couple of tweeks in the back seam and they are perfect. I have a waistline that dips down in the front and up in the back--they fit perfectly. I also have a bodice fit block that she draped on me and I am the process of balancing that and making a blouse block for making blouse patterns off of and also to use to adjust commercial patterns. It also fit like a glove.

She is very specific about patterns being balanced and in proportion. She has several book--I bought the pattern making book and the fashion sewing book. For those of you interested in draping, she has a draping book.

She has worked extensively in the garment industry as a pattern maker and it excellent. She is also coming out with patterns in conjunction with McCall/Butterick in the next month. You really should check out her patterns.

Her website is http://www.fashionpatterns.com

One happy person with am excellent pair of pants!!

That sounds like a wonderful class! I'm envious. You could write a review in the Sewing Expo and Class Review section here. More people would see this info plus have better access to this useful info over time.

Um ... no you didn't.

What Liz meant was to write a review in the *review* section of the website, not on the message board.

Look at the left column, under "Sewing Reviews." There is a category for "Sewing Expo Reviews" and another for "Sewing Class Reviews." I'd choose "Sewing Class Reviews" and put your review there.
