I'm going to embroider or applique a pair of my son's jeans. I want to do this on the legs. I know that I need to rip open the seams but I'm confused about how to tell where to start ripping. Do I do the inside leg or the outer leg? Or does it really matter? TIA

Most men's jeans don't have a felled seam or fake felled seam on the inner leg side. I would take a look there first as it would be easier to remove stitching. If such is not the case and both seams are felled, I still would go for the inner seam -- disrupting the outer seam and resewing it would probably be much more noticeable after all is said and done.
