Have you measured the length of the two lines?
If they are the same length, I think you would just put the two lines together. If not, the straight line might be the center of the dart.
Maybe someone whose sewn a Neue Mode pattern will chime in.

OK, take this with a grain of salt because I don't know for sure. If the dart legs are uneven and angled, I imagine you would need to ease the longer side into the shorter side. Try hand basting it in that way before permanently sewing. There's a name for those darts, but it escapes me at the moment.

thanks for the cute skirt compliment...i am making the skirt without the godot (sp?)...everything is cut and waiting to be sewn (even the darn darts)
i thought the vertical line was the center of the dart at first...i sewed it and it looked so puckered i began to have doubts...
i am just used to a V for the dart shape. not a half of a V...

Hello krabbit01
Been trying to think of a solution to this "half of a V" dart problem, and I haven't a clue! I'm just posting to bump up your thread, hoping that will help it get read again, and then someone very wise will have the answer!

Seems to me the straight line would be where you fold the fabric in half and then sew along the angled line. I sometimes put tissue under my fabric (depending on fabric) to give it a pucker free seam. You could private message drsue or Linda to make sure since they did a review on this skirt. Good luck
