If you can sew a seam together, you can make a 6.5 inch block for our PR quilt. I'm just putting this in misc so that more people will see it, and know that you DO NOT have to be a quilter to do this. You could sew two triangles together, or 4 squares and be done.
Just go to HERE for the rules and chatter about it, and go HERE to see a gallery of the quilt blocks so far. As you can see, there are simple ones and fabulous ones. We need more simple to balance the fabulous. Mine will of course be very simple.

Thanks for the jog to my rapidly expanding list of things to do! I believe I can do this while waiting for the rest of my sewing room to get emptied out. It should be a quick weekend (or even Friday night) project!

Ms Slowpoke here was able to do this quickly, so I'm certain that most of you will just whip one out. The hardest part was deciding what to make.

So Mary, are you implying that my simple one is anything other than fabulous?

Seriously, while I certainly wouldn't call it fabulous, I'm quite pleased with my little block. And I think that these simpler ones will keep the quilt from getting too wild. So folks - don't let the fancy ones scare you off. Both types are needed!!! Even the signed 6.5" square of fabric would be a reasonable option. The fun part is having the squares come in from various places.

Mine is "in the mail". A simple one. 'Twas a bit nervous about being "EXACT" with my cutting... Seems that a bit "off" will work out, anyway. Priscilla, our PR Member Quilt Maker, knows how to fix up bits. So, I went ahead.

I'll have two in the mail on Monday. I'm foundation piecing a few sewing motifs.

I'm working on three and should finish them this weekend. (There were too many irresistible fat quarters to make just one!)

I actually made two last weekend, but my seam allowances must have been a bit too large because the finished blocks came out just shy of 6.25 inches (nowhere near the 6.5 inches requested). So, I'm re-doing them.

Mine will be simple - this is a first for me.

Okay, I will work on mine. Gives me an excuse to get out the embroidery machine. Maybe I'll use a Tornado because that's how my activity/schedule has been like lately. A whirlwind of activities.

Have to hunt the stash for suitable fabric.

To clarify...is the finished block to be 6.25 inches square, or 6 inches square? Thanks.
