I'm looking for some pants fabric with stretch. I'm seeing a lot of that on Trim Fabric, but I'm noticing some weird things. In their "Stretch" section, almost everything has the fabric content listed as 90%/10%, for example, 90% polyester - 10% spandex, or 90% cotton - 10% spandex. Doesn't that spandex content seem a bit high? I'm concerned because I always seem to have trouble with my pants "growing" after I've fitted them perfectly and then wear them for a few hours. It also just seems weird because how could almost every fabric be a 90%/10%?

Next, there are some nice suiting fabrics listed as "Dark Brown Striped Stretch Wool Suiting Fabric" or "Black Wool Jacket Fabric", yet both of these descriptions say they're made of polyester and spandex. ?? I prefer the poly anyway because I don't want to have to dry clean. But their prices seem to indicate that they are wool, not poly.

I know I could just ask the company, but I thought I'd try you all first for some opinions I know I can count on.
THank you!!

I thought the maximum spandex that you want was 2 to 3 percent. Ten seems like swimsuit fabric.

I've bought from them before. I got a piece of silk burnout and tropical weight wool. They were both really nice

I've found their website inexplicable, so have never ordered from them despite the good prices. Sorry that's not that helpful. :)

I ordered black wool crepe from them once. It had flaws running throughout it - like pulled threads. They would never respond to my request for a refund. I finally gave up.

Yikes I hope that was an isolated incident. Thanks for your input.

I know!! That HAS to be some sort of an error, in my opinion. I think I'll ask the company if that's really accurate.
Thanks!

There are several website reviews of Trim Fabrics here - you should check them out. More than one person has had problems with them.

Personally, I find their descriptions to be so vague that I've never ordered from them.

i ordered from trim fabrics - i bought some wide wale corduroy about 18 months ago. it arrived very quickly, was well packed, the fabric is lovely and is as it was described and the postage charged was as stated on the website. i have read the other reviews of less than satisfied customers and while i have no reason to doubt the reviews i thought i would tell you of my experience just to lend balance. i have no association with trim fabrics, either before or after my purchase and my comments are given without endorsement.

I've ordered from TF within the last month. The fabric was just as I was expecting (maybe even better considering the price I paid) and arrived quickly and in ONE piece (a long cut). I've already sewn it up and sent the garment on its way so it never even made it to the stash.

I think many of the bad reviews/comments are old, so maybe TF has improved things?? I don't know since I've only had the one (positive) experience so far.
