I now have an avatar. So does everyone else.

Another website I regularly visit has generic ones for everyone and the consensus is that no one likes them. This one is quite nice.

Thank you.

Yes, the avatars are attractive.

It threw me off at first though. I was reading a thread and thought "Why is there only one person that is posting to this thread?? Are they having a discussion with themself??" DUH moment, multiple people have the same avatar- THAT explains it!! I say thesame avatar andjust assumed it was the same person making all those posts!!!

Yes, it threw me off for a few seconds as well. I thought to myself "What a cute avatar - wonder how she found that". Then I realized it's a new site default. Very cute.

It messes with my mind! I don't like it. Why do we need placeholder avatars? Oh well, I guess I'll get used to it.

I'm with you, Liz...they're making me nuts! Forgive my internet ignorance, but what is their actual purpose? While the symbol is attractive, it makes every post look the same. I would much prefer to see a personalized photo/avatar (or just a name)...makes skimming thru a thread for something a specific person posted much easier. But since I'm sure I'm in the minority, I'll get used to it, too.

I noticed it today when I posted. Don't think it's needed. Don't think it really adds anything, but it really doesn't bother me as much as the spacing and a half does.

BTW, I left you a message on the shoe thread. Don't think you saw it. Anyway, all I said was that Chadwick's have size 5 shoes in case you need another source. I linked on that thread.

There are lots of places online to get free avatar pictures if we don't have our own. If anyone wants to replace their one-size-fits-all avatar it is easy. One of many such sites - Free Avatars Online

When I clicked on the free avatar site a window popped up and said, "IE cannot open this internet site. Operation aborted."

Anyone know why this happened?
