Help! The hemline of my Textile Studios Basic Top slants terribly--much higher in front than in back. Here's a photo of the problem ( click here ). I've made this top before in knits and the problem was not this noticable. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

It looks like to me that you need a full bust adjustment. Hope this works for you.

I agree with Jane...you need a FBA...this will also take care of the wrinkles pointing at your bust...here's a link to the definitive thread on FULL BUST ALTERATIONS
BTW, nice fabric

You definitely need a FBA (full bust adjustment).

Thanks to everyone who responded to my cry for help. It seems unanimous; I need a full bust adjustment. I would never have thought to do that, since I wear a 36 B (and that's stretching it). All my fullness is in my upper bust measurement area, not in my cup size. Upper bust = 37 1/4, full bust = 37 3/4, below bust (band area)=32. Will the full bust adjustment still work, do you think.

While your measurements don't seem like you would need a FBA, you could have what FFRP say is a full ribcage which presents as a full bust. Yes, I think a FBA will be needed.Do you have this book? It is a great help.

Sewing Jane is right - and I have this issue (large ribcage). I am an A/B cup, most of the time I don't even wear a bra, but I have to do an FBA on everything. Usually if I choose a size in the 33-34" range, I can add the 3" I need by doing an FBA, and I get a good fit.
This is one of the reasons why "cup size" can be completely irrevelant to fitting.

A basic FBA will add length and width in the bust area. It looks like you only need length. Your have nice erect posture creates shorter body length in the back and longer in the front.

Thanks to everyone. I do have FFRP, and I'm going to try again in a woven with the FBA/Full Rib Cage adjustment. I submit a new photo as soon as I finish. In the meantime, I guess I'll just wear this top with a sports bra or no bra, which may help. BTW, the international bra size calculator tells me I should wear a 36A or even a AA javascript:emoticon('')
confused. Maybe I'll go shopping for some a new bra before I try again.

Even with a FBA, my tops can still ride up in front. For me, it's from rounded/forward shoulders, or patterns that are drafted without enough length in the back armhole. But you stand very straight - look at the section of FFRP on straight/erect/sway or flat back. You may need to raise the back as well as lengthen the front!
