4-thread overlock (Moderated by Sharon1952, EleanorSews)

Okay, rookie question.
I am attempting a 4 thread overlock. It looks okay on the back, but on the front the looper stitches are all leaning one way...
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Oh, also, the needle stitches on the backside are like dots.

If the threads on the top of the fabric are not satisfactory to you then I suggest the change your upper looper tension a bit and see if that helps.

Get out your cheat sheet and check your threading. Make sure that all the treads are properly seated in the tension disks. Do you need thread nets? Might if using regular thread as it is less fuzzy and sides through easier. Make sure the stitch selector is set properly as well. The pressure foot needs to be down. Don't laugh I've done it.

Another rather silly thing that can make a difference is to make sure that your thread antenna is all the way extended. I thought one of my sergers had some major problems once after checking that all was in order and it was..except for the antenna..and bingo..the problem...the antenna was half way up. One would not think that this would make a difference being that the tension discs are below the antenna but I found that it does make a difference.

Don't worry, I'm laughing WITH you. Yeah, um, I just MIGHT have done that tonight....maybe...lol
I thought, man, what dial did I forget to set?! It's really easy to leave that presser foot up because it's so long, it looks like it's down when you're looking from the front. (Or so I told myself.)
I'll try rethreading the needles tomorrow. It has automatic tension, so I'm not sure there's any way to manually adjust the needles. Thanks, guys! :)

LOL
Okay, went back and watched the beginning of the baby lock serger video (snore!) and apparently the first time I watched it, I slept through the part where she explained the back of this stitch would look like tiny dots.
Heh
So apart from a slight leaning of looper threads, we're a go!
Thanks, everyone.
