I'm making a long skirt with a deep yoke at the waist. The yoke is slightly curved at the front and V-shaped at the back. The panels below the yoke are bias-cut. The pattern is unlined, with a waist facing.
I'm using wool, which is a bit itchy, so I'll need a lining or a slip. I can't decide which to make.
I'd love your opinions!
Thanks in advance.

You really could do either. If you wear long skirts, it would probably be nice to have a long slip on hand. I usually line skirts simply so I don't have to mess with a slip but its really personal preference. Nancy Erickson has a pattern for a "pants liner" in her pants pattern that I have cut out. She suggests making it to wear under slacks. It is washable and you won't have to send your wool slacks to the cleaners so often. Lots of different ideas.

Unless the lining is constructed a certain way, it may interfere with the drape of the bias panels. Just buy or make a simple slip.

Thank you for your suggestions! I will go with a slip. It would mean less washing for the skirt, which will definitely make it last longer. And I wasn't sure about lining something cut on the bias, so it looks like a slip is the easiest thing. Easier to sew, too!

"Easier to sew, too!"

Easier to iron than a bias skirt with a lining, too!!
