Have you looked here?

Upholstery

I think the problem is the weight. Most of the retro fabric I see is dress weight. Good luck!

Yes, they have a whole 60's and 70's section, although it's cotton broadcloth so maybe not heavy enough for upholstery, other than slipcovers -- Here's the link.

Hi Cristina,

You might look at Retro Depot. They have many retro designs, including marimekko designs, many of which were intended for home dec, but were co-opted by apparel sewers. (NAYY)

Good luck!

Check out Ikea if you have one nearby. Some of them have fabric by the meter, and last time I was in one, they had a lot of big retro-type prints.

Try Tonic Living, they have a large selection of upholstry weight fabric in 70s designs. This company is located in Canada and they sell via their website and on eBay. I have never bought from them, but I have heard good things about them.

Wow -- that's an amazing site! I'd never heard of them (and I live in Ontario)! Reasonable, too.

Ikea has a great selection of Marimekko style fabrics but at a reasonable cost. Many of them are heavy enough to work for upholstery..they are a heavy cotton canvas. I bought three different fabrics there a few weeks agop. One is now a table cloth. The other two will be made into dresses for me.
