I've been going around to different sites (a bunch) and cannot find anyone who carries the 90 weight bobbin thread. I'm getting a little concerned since some people are saying that is the type of bobbin thread for the Emore. Is this true or can I use a 60 or 70 weight (I did find that).
Thanks.

I do believe this was stated when you were asking about the Emore.
Early Discussion

You have to use 90wt bobbin thread in the Emore. You can buy it from your dealer or here: 90 wt Bobbin Thread

Kelly may have found other sources and may reply.

The 90 Wt thread spicegirl suggested should work fine...in fact..thanks for that link cause I could use black bobbin thread and "the Finishing Touch" thread only comes in white.

NO you cannot use 60 wt bobbin thread in the Emore. Have your dealer order a pack of 5 spools just for you from The Finishing Touch. (you should have gotten a sample of it in the box with your machine. ) It should cost you around $35.00 for the pack of 5. Whenever you get down to 3, order another set. I have no problem getting mine from my dealer. She may not even know that the machine takes 90 wt as it is the ONLY BabyLock machine that does. You will need to bring that to her attention so she can provide the necessary bobbin thread for your machine. "The Finishing Touch" is the BabyLock thread brand so it should be no problem for her to get it.

If you just want to order it on the net, just google "The Finishing Touch" 90wt Bobbin thread. I found it on ebay as well as other sites that carry it.

I bought an Emore in October, 2007. The dealer tested it for me before I brought it home. Since it was repackaged I didn't get to the manual and contents until I opened it at home. It came with 60 weight "finishing touch" bobbin thread which had been opened. When I read the manual I discovered the Emore should use 90 weight. I didn't think much about it at the time except that maybe the dealer inadvertently put the 60 weight in the box after she tested the machine. Anyway, I did find "finishing touch" 90 weight at my local Joann Fabric Super Store.

I've only sewn a couple designs on my machine using the 60 weight and found that I had to increase the top thread tension to it's maximum to get the balance you're supposed to have for embroidery. I'm going to switch to the 90 weight to see if there's a visual difference in the design. So, for me, the 60 weight works in the machine, but I would think that if the manual says to use 90 weight you probably should.

I'm an experienced sewer but embroidery is new to me. The Emore is a great machine, so far. I'm really anxious to do more stitching.

I think the bobbin thread comes with the machine and not added buy the dealer but it wouldn't hurt to call this to your dealer's attention.

It could have been a slip up at whatever location is responsible for packaging and could lead to dissatisfied customers.....

The bobbin thread did come with the machine, but it was 60 weight in the box. The dealer opened the box to test the machine before I picked it up. I just sent an e-mail to Baby Lock and asked them which weight is supposed to be used.

I also did some testing with both weights (using satin stitch, which I understand is the best way to test tension). They both required a change in tension for the "balance" test, but they both worked.
