I am making an A-line skirt out of silk georgette. I (unfortunately) have quite a tummy problem, with protruding abdomen and thick waist, but hips not particularly large (36-34-41, to be exact.
) If I curve out to accomodate the increased waist and abdomen and then just continue a straight line parallel to the original line, I end up increasing the overall volume a fair bit. (It adds 4" overall at the hem.) If I aim back toward size 16, I change the angle of the A-line. Which would be better? The fabric is very thin and drapey, so I'm leaning toward increasing the overall skirt volume--I don't think it will add bulk. Any thoughts? Thanks.

A line is A line. I'd angle out.
