Every 3 months I travel to Orange ( a 3 hour round trip) to vist a specialist Dr..........while I am in Orange I usually have plenty of time to kill so visit the "op shops ". I love vintage fabrics and notions.......have bought some beautiful stuff! but yesterday I think I scored the best I ever have!

4mt x 1.5m of chocolate brown tencil type fabric ( twill weave beautiful soft drape......will have to fight my DD from that one!).......$10
3m x 1.5m of navy!!! wool blend ( work pants yayayay)..$9
2.5m of very fine navy linen ( summer work skirt!) ....$7
3m olive bottom weight cotton drill .... $6
2.5m of mystery synthetic ( sort of sueded with a knit back?) in a purply/burgandy colour.....very soft.... $7
2.5 m of another mystery fabric that will be lining for the other mystery fabric ( very soft sort of open weave like flanalette but not brushed and way softer?) in a elizabethan floral ......$3.........a grand total of $42!!!

I actually bought some sueded cotton drill in the curtain shop ( there are no apparel fabric shops in Orange ) to trial a pattern...just washed it and its shrunk at least %35

I am sooo doing the happy dance here!

cheers

Awesome finds! We have a newly-relocated thrift shop just down the road from Joann's, so I hope to be stopping there more often. They don't have a huge amount of fabric, but what they do have is $1 per piece (no matter what the size of the piece). Last time I was there they had some pretty large pieces of pretty nice fabric in there. Heck, for $1 maybe I should have bought some...
