I bought a used gravity feed iron... the demineralizer and the 'device' to filter it from the line to the iron was all jumbled around during shipping.

I have purchased fresh demineralizer and a replacement hose/water line for it BUT don't know what order to place the three pieces that go at the bottom of the tank: one piece is a round flat ring, the mesh filter screen looking round piece and a the last one, a flat ring with an X sort of thru the center.

Of course no directions ... I don't want to have have the iron cleaned and buy another water line for it if the demineralizer gets in the line again.

It is a Naomoto if that makes any difference.

Thank you all~ !

I'll try to help. I recently purchased the Naomoto HYS 58 from Cleaners Supply.

I do recall that there is a sealing ring that needed to be seated carefully at the bottom before adding resin or water. I believe that this was the only loose part for the interior of the bottle when it arrived, and so didn't pay close attention to the inside of the bottle.

While I have to look up at the now assembled bottle to see the bottom, there appears to be a filter screen below the sealing ring. I can't see a flat X ring, and don't see it on the parts list in the paperwork. That doesn't mean that it isn't important, as we could have different models.

If you have the model number, you might contact Naomoto directly at
http://www.naomoto.com/productsing.html

Or google for an online dealer of your particular model or one that is currently close to it. Some that come to mind are Allbrands, Sew True, and Ultimate Sew and Vac. Cleaners Supply has provided excellent customer service for the questions I've had on mine - I believe they sell a couple of Naomoto models.

HTH a little!

Thank you for taking time to reply. I think I will phone Allbrands in the am and see if they will describe the order to put the things in. I am pretty sure the round screen thing will be in the middle just which thing goes on the bottom and which on top before I pour in the demineralizer granule stuff.

I am thinking of it as one giant french press but no punger!

Thank you again

Hi Nancy,

I need to ask the same question as you did--what is the order in which those three filter parts are installed? Did you get a reply to your question? I seem to be getting some of the resin seeping under those three pieces and leaking into the water feed, so I suspect I may not have them in the proper sequence. Alternatively, I may need to purchase new filter parts altogether.

Thanks for your reply.
