Has anyone ever bought a new pattern and then when you go to use it you are missing some pieces? I just had that happen. Unfortunately, I've had the pattern probably a week before I noticed it. I don't know if Joann's would exchange it for me or not.

Have the pieces been cut from the pattern paper or is the sheet missing completely, or could it be a miss print?

I have had a missprint once, years ago. I took it back to my local shop and we opended the others they had in stock and they all were miss prints. I got my money back.

I have also had to search on some patterns to find all the pieces and some patterns give you measurements for rectangular pieces instead of a pattern piece.

I had this happen with a regency dress pattern (simplicity I think). I had double sheets of the same pattern pieces (bodice and sleeves) but was missing the others (skirt part) that I needed. I took it back to joanns and explained the problem. They let me exchange the pattern for another one.

Edited to add... I had this particular pattern for well over a year before I go to it and noticed the error. Thankfully it was still in print and had the correct pattern and size in the drawer.

I had this happen with a Simplicity. I called the help line and told them, and they sent me a new pattern. I think it's good to let them know.

Definitely take it back to JoAnnes. I've had something very similar happen, and they were wonderful at letting me exchange it.

If you don't get any satisfaction from Joann, contact the pattern company. I recently had a Simplicity pattern that was the wrong size...the envelope was marked as one size range, but the contents were from a larger size range. I contacted Simplicity and they not only sent me a new pattern (2nd day air, no less) but also a coupon for a free pattern. So if you're not in a hurry, that might be a better route to take anyway.

I agree with everyone else. I actually bought a Simplicity from Wal-Mart that had the directions sheet in a total other lanuage, absolutely no English. Since it was the last one at Wal-mart I knew I couldn't get a replacement. I wrote to Simplicity, they were wonderful, emailed me the directions in PDF then mailed the entire pattern again.

I'm missing a whole sheet. I think I will try going to Joann's first. In all the years I've been sewing, this is the first time I've had this happen to me.

All right, you're making me nervous...what pattern is it? I need to go check my stash.

Go back to the store with a clear conscience. A week isn't so long, and it's not like you don't have a life, anyway, right?
