I took a piece a pink linen blend with white bamboo design out of my stash of fabric, and found that I have yellow stains where the fabric was folded. I tried washing with Spray & Wash, Magic Wand, but to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting rid of these ugly yellow stains? Thank you!

Try Oxyclean or one of its clones. If you want to do something cut on the fold you'll have to move the pattern piece away from the fold, add a seam allowance and sew it up the middle. Think of it as an opportunity to add some shaping.

Get one of the Oxy wash powders and soak it overnight with the Oxy cleaner and your regular detergent.
The yellow stain is oxidation--exactly what the "Oxy" products are designed to remove. They work like a miracle to those of us who remember the days pre-Oxy--when oxidation meant your piece of fabric was ruined beyond repair. If it doesn't take it all out the first time, soak it again. It's possible that it might take a couple soakings but really unlikely. I buy a lot of vintage fabric and I no longer flinch at even really scary oxidation.

I am going for a level of perfection that is only mine... Most of the pleasure is in getting that last little piece perfect...Inspiration is for amateurs. The rest of us just keep showing up and doing the work.

I have used Amways Smashing White to take yellow marks off vintage table clothes. I found a beautiful hand made lace cloth that had a rectangular stain where it had been folded on a unpainted shelf.

It was not white, but I figured I had nothing to loose (it cost me 50 cents). The Smashing white got rid of the stain, but left all the colour in the cloth.

I am in no way affiliated with Amway, do not and have never sold it, I was given a sample of the product and it works very well for me.
