A little sewing rant....having a warm and fuzzy time sewing my retro 50's dress in navy shantung...or maybe shatung....that silky thin fabric. I iron on the interfacing to the facing....all goes well until I see this one wrinkle in the interfacing. I have come undone ever so slightly. Okay....any way to undo this without having to recut things? I really was having a perfectly lovely Saturday...then the fusible interfacing became difficult.

Often if you iron it you can pull it off before it cools. Then re do the interfacing. You will have to use a new piece of interfacing. Often it is easier to use sew-in for silkies. It is shantung, but shantung is usually quite well behaved and more crisp and a good candidate for fusibles. Are you sure that is what you have?

Thanks for helping me out. That is what it said over the bolt at JoAnns. It is very silky on one side and less silky on the other side with a pattern of fine lines. I did what you said and I came out fine. I have the bodice together now. Now I am a happy sewing person. I love the fabric.....fusible interfacing is what I have the love/hate relationship with
