Moving and I'm giving up the wonderful south-facing window that was in front of my machine, so I need better lighting.
Do you prefer a flexible desk lamp or a multi-light floor lamp?

Thanks!

I have both and I use both of them every time I sew. If your new sewing room has a hard floor surface, I suggest getting a floor lamp with wheels. I'm always dragging my floor lamp from the cutting table to the ironing board...I have carpet though, so I don't know if wheels would be any better for me.

I have two gooseneck desk lamps with daylight bulbs in them, plus my centre of the ceiling overhead light.

One of the goosenecks is on a shelf above and a little to the right of my s/m, the other is on the countertop an to the left. I like being able to move the lamps as needed.

Both lamps are thrift shop specials.

I have a flexible gooseneck floor light with one light (not multi) and I like it because I can easily move it from the sewing machine to the ironing board without unplugging it. I can also move it to the living room and place on the floor near my chair for handsewing.

For better light when relaxing in your favorite, living room chair with your hand-hemming, buttons, etc. try one of those bright, LED headlamps that you can find in hardware stores and sporting goods stores.

That way you can have all the light you need right on your work without bothering others by making the whole room too bright for good TV.

The nicest are the ones that let you adjust the lamp to aim the light right where you need it most.
