Anyone here know how to stuff a tutu with embelishments like flowers and such?

I have tied tutu's before, but would like to accomplish the stuffed tutu for a Christmas project.

??

Huh?

My definition of a tutu is a stiff short skirt that sticks out nearly horizontal at the bottom of a female ballerina's leotard.

I could see how you could "tie" a tutu, by making it a tie-on skirt instead of one that was permanently attached.

But I am unable to comprehend one one could possibly "stuff" a tutu. :/

Do you have a picture or some other example of what you're trying to accomplish?

I think you need to make each layer or tier (whatever it's called) out of a folded layer.

Wow, hard to explain without images, right? I mean that instead of cutting the tulle or whatever you are using and doing a hem on one egde and gather the other, you would fold the fabric in two, with the fold being the hem. Think of a taco!!!

Of course, you would put the flowers, beads etc in between the two sides. That would be the chicken and veggies in the taco. Then the open side would be gathered and/or sewn to the waist ribbon.

Clear? HTH
