Hello there!
I am having so much fun learning on PR. Currently, I am taking the online beginner's 101 class and devouring as much as possible on the message boards. To try and appease my endless appetite for sewing related reading, I was wondering what all of you ladies and gents recommend in the way of sewing magazines? What are the must have subscriptions for you? How about the ones that you only pick up at the store every now and then? Are there any that you feel are a waste of money? I am interested to hear everyone's various responses.

First off you need to define the type of sewing you are interested in. There are dozens of quilting magazines, some machine embroidery magazines, crafty sewing magazines, pattern magazines(some by pattern companies and others include patterns), style magazines and technique magazines.
I do not subscribe to any, but pick up Threads, Sew News, when I see interesting articles. I buy Burda WoF (World of Fashion) pattern magazines, when they have styles that interest me.
I do not have access to Ottobre pattern magazine, I found one copy a few years ago, but cannot find anyone who stocks it locally. As my kids have outgrown most there patterns, I definately want to see the magazine before buying.
Occasionally I can find Australian Stitches in packages of two magazines for $13.00, as I cannot flip through them, I rarely buy. I once found a NZ fibre arts magazine that had sewing, knitting, weaving and more in it. I have never seen another copy and my Kiwi step mum has never seen it back home.
