Go to this website, click around a bit and check out the item called "the Goddess". http://www.kania.ca/ It's fabulous, and far over my price range. Out of the dozen or so wrap shirt patterns I own, any clue what would be a decent starting point, or (far more likely) am I better off just draping this one.

What is that? Is it a dress, a coat, a top?
Well I guess it doesn't matter what it is - it looks great on the model!
I don't know for sure the best way to tackle it - draping or modifying an existing pattern. But if you can drape, that might be easier?

I just started draping not too long ago, so I'm not terribly comfortable with my own abilities.

Hi moonfluer! Hope all is well for you.
That is a neat top / jacket / whatever. LOL
Do you have a close fitting wrap dress pattern? You could cut away the bottom portion into the style shown.
Key features:
wide neckline
close, knit fit
distinctive hemline
The hemline portion, which is probably the most distinctive feature, is probably the easiest part to recreate. The neckline seems like it would be the hardest.

With a great wardrobe that's still in the flat-fabric stage.

If it helps, Burda WOF had a coat with that hemline sometime in the past few years. Not too specific, eh? It is a gorgeous piece. I'm interested in the neckline; there seems to be a folded over piece?

In the one picture where she's reclining, you can tell the top is actually a raglan sleeve, and the wrap portion has a wide binding to it. I saw this in person, and have been obsessed. Starting with a dress is probably a much smarter idea, I had it in my head that it was a "top" and hadn't really been thinking that it's more of a dress than anything, it wraps further across the body than most tops would...
