A while back someone asked if it was ok to leave out the top buttons on a shirt because she never buttoned up to the top. Of course you can do whatever you want when you make your own. But, when I was trolling through Net a Porter for ideas, low and behold a blouse with no buttons on the band or top of shirt. here

I have a number of RTW that don't have the top buttons, what I would think of as the top 2 or even 3 on a traditional button up. These blouses are usually fairly fitted, not boxy, and often the neck line is slightly "V" shaped, but not all. I think this look is currently "in style" and wouldn't hesitate for a second to omit the top button(s). JMHO, but the big 4 aren't aways trendsetters, LOL.

I own banana rep. shirt that don't have the top buttons too. The trick is putting
first button at the bust line. I look low but

Just think of the money saved in manufacturing by getting the public to accept the missing button look as normal!
