I checked Spandex House, as a previous thread suggested, for swimsuit fabric.  This is when I realized that there's nothing labeled "swimsuit fabric."  So, I need to know which fabrics are suitable for swimsuits.  I don't want to settle for the crap at joann's!

Ressy had swimsuit fabric leftovers at the Fabrics & Notions co-op not very long ago. I've not been keeping up, so I don't know if she's still got them.

I hitnk they're usually nylon/lycra?  Here's a link that might help

Sometimes you can tell just by the appearance.  If you see a fabric with a foil or holographic decoration applied to the surface - that means its dance/gymnastics fabric.

Avoid those for swimsuits because the foil decoration won't hold up at all up to the pool chemicals, salt and abrasion that a swimsuit is subjected to.

Also - this lycra fabric in the swimsuits my kids are wearing is really for dance/gymnastics (notice the shine, which is only on the right side).... I used it for my kids swimsuits only because I had a lot of it - these suits won't last past this summer; they are already starting to pull and pill on the surface.... which is fine because they'll out grow them anyway
