Is it worth it or just stick with my regular acrylic ruler? (Moderated by Sharon1952)

I've had my eye on the Shape Cut I saw at a local Walmart for $10. Well, at least I thought I saw $10 on the tag. When I called back to the store to confirm, they said it was $18.
Since I just spent $18 on my Creative Grid ruler here, why spend another $18 bucks so fast.
I was in Joann's yesterday and the 50% coupon was burning a hole in my pocket. I gotta watch the sewing notions or I'll be an addict real soon
. When the saleslady said it was $19.99, I thought, wow, only $10. So, I scooped it up.
I was reading the front label and it says it gives 1/2" measurements. For the life of me, I do not see any 1/2" measurements. Where are the 1/2" measurements?
Also, give me the pro's and con's of this ruler. Does it shift a lot? Should I stick with a regular acrylic ruler? Let me know your experiences with the Shape Cut here

I bought mine because a quilting friend of mine told me to. So I did. LOL I love mine!
In my sewing room, the shape-cut does not shift. Usually the channel on the end sort of grabs the edge of the fabric. I find it to be a little more accurate than using my ruler.
IMO it's not for every application (or maybe I'm just a major klutz) but when I use it, I am sooo glad I have it.

They are at the top & bottom of the cutting channels. The rotary blade passes through the channels in the ruler, which you cannot see in that photograph, but they run perpendicular to the black lines you can see. You use the black lines to 'square up' with the lines on your rotary mat.Where are the 1/2" measurements?

I don't quilt but I use mine to cut strips for bindings. It make the job much easier. The ruler doesn't slip or move around. I use it constantly. It makes cutting strips for bindings so easy that I use them all the time for knit tops. I like it so much that I bought the Shape Cut Pro which cuts strips 2 1/2" wide.

I love my Shape Cut Ruler and weigh it down with Dritz pattern weights. Two months ago I used it to cut all the strips for this totebag. It's the best thing since sliced bread.

Go to www.sewforless.com Do a search for Accuquilt. Click on the the Accuquilt item and watch the video. This would be nice to have.

Am I overlooking the video? I can't locate it on the page with Accuquilt.
