Anyone in San Francisco/San Jose area willing to help out? (Moderated by Deepika, Sharon1952)

Hi,
I'm trying to learn drafting from Helen Joseph-Armstrong's Patternmaking for Fashion Design. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get the measurements right. I hired a professional seamstress to help me with them, but as neither she nor I had experience with the book, we apparently got some of them wrong, because the sloper I drafted from the measurements is off. WAY off.
So I'm looking for someone in the San Francisco/San Jose/Bay Area who is familiar with the book and can help me. I'm happy to pay for help as long as I can depend on the results.
Anyone know anyone who can help me? I really need someone who has experience with pattern drafting using this book.

Over the years, I've heard about various typos in pattern drafting books throwing people off. This seems to be one benefit to taking a class - the instructor will likely have figured them out already. One thing you might consider if you have someone to help is just draping the basic pieces right on your body. There were some articles in Threads on this a little while back and I imagine you could find something about it online too.

When I was there recently, there was a sign up at the Mountain View Jo-Ann's for a woman who teaches sewing and fitting and who might be perfect for your needs. Unfortunately I don't remember her name - maybe you could call the store and ask?
