I love all the pretty little pockets on jackets etc this year. Some are different shapes, some with pleats and draping and some other techniques. I have one or two patterns, but do any of you know of a pattern with multiple pocket suggestions or a web-site with such that I could copy whilst figuring out the technique. Its rather pricey to keep buying different patterns just for the pockets. BWOF do have some but not as many as I imagined they would have. Any suggestions out there please?

Clair Schaeffer book

This book is a good resource for pockets as well as other designer details.

Here are two more books by Claire Shaeffer about pockets:

Patch Pockets & Set-In Pockets

She tells you how to draft your pocket patterns and then offers drawings to stimulate your creativity.

Yes, these are just what you need. Once you know how to make any kind of pocket you want, you can ignore the pattern and do whatever pockets you want. Well, sometimes I look on the pattern to get the approximate size and placement.

It's nice to know how to make them in addition to the pattern instructions, too.

I like Just Pockets by Patricia Moyes.

All my garments must have pockets and this book has been a terrific resource for all kinds of pockets.

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary. - Steve Jobs

Hallo all, Thanks for all your advice. I have actually now ordrered Clare S book as advised! I have all her other books and Amazon had a 2nd hand one cheap. Whether or not it will show these latest pockets cropping up in RTW,I will wait to see, but there seems to be many techniques of interest there.
"Just Pockets" I am sure is good but havebought so many more books this year my library has had to be moved to a new home! I did look at the Anthropologie site for a short while but it didn't show much up of great interest I'm afraid - thanks though
