This weekend we went to an event where one of the men had his shirt off (it was appropriate -- beach, outside, etc.). This morning I woke up thinking, "You know, you'd have to add a good three inches in length through the torso for a shirt for ****, his upper body length is really disproportionate to his height, and I'll bet he has a difficult time finding shirts off the rack. . .". (made *me* start the day with a laugh!).

Wait until you stand in line at Disneyland and study everyone crotch to see how much ease is necessary to eliminate smiles.

Yeah, we went to a community band performance where the conductor's pants fit very poorly/oddly in the rear, and obviously he spent the evening with his back to the audience. I barely heard the music trying to figure out how to alter to make that weird pulling lay properly.

Your post amused me (and reassured me that I'm not alone in my mental alterations)!
When I am walking at the gym, I think of what alterations the other walkers would require and what pattern size I would start with. I don't think I'm being critical of the diversity of human shapes and sizes, just analytical. I know that if there is a similarly inclined person walking behind me, she/he is thinking WBA (wide butt adjustment).

That's just "fabric engineering," not being critical of other shapes! Guys wonder all the time how things work!
I am always impressed when a woman with a non-standard shape has on beautifully fitted clothing. I'm tempted to ask if she sews. But, then I'd have to admit why I thought maybe she does.... I suspect no matter how tastefully such an inquiry was worded, it would be heard as, "With a ________ like that, I'm surprised you could buy anything that fits!"

So glad you said that yourself! At first I thought someone else had said that to you.

It's getting so that I can't sit down and read messages on PR with some liquid in my mouth! I'm getting tired of wiping the monitor down.

I'm right with you on this one! Where I live, there are more deeper smiles than others. It's a real challenge to figure the exact amounts. And then of course, there's the all time favorite--the wedgie....
