Is there a stick on one for vintage machines? (Moderated by Sharon1952, EleanorSews)

Yes I know I am lazy and I do just snip the threads with a pair of scissors but I was wondering if it is possible to buy a stick on thread cutter to stick on the side of my new vintage New Home 549.
I am not talking about all your fancy machines with the inbuilt push a button thread cutter, just the sticky out bit of sharp metal used by hand.
I did a quick google search but so far have come up blank.

I bought one about 10 years ago to stick on my serger. It still sticks and is just great.
You may find that there is a thread cutter on the back of the post that raises and lowers the needle. I have no idea what that is called, but Iknow my mum's old Singer had one. It was a slit that you pulled the thread through.

Yes Soolip probably has the one that I saw. My dealer even carried them for awhile. They're really nice to have and not obtrusive or prone to fall off. oh! and they work!

Carrie-Jean, I was going to post what Michelle already posted..double check to see if your machine has a slot on the back of needle bar to cut the thread.

I got one form HomeSew Inc catalog , it is shaped like ladybug. It cost around $5. Stuck it on my Kenmore 19606 because the machine one was poor. I works great but not quite as sharp as when I first got it but I use it a lot.

Thanks for those links.
I haven't seen anything like those here in the UK and really like the ladybug one. Airmail shipping to the UK shouldn't be a problem for something that small.
Thanks

I added that Easy Cut doodad to my Viking about 10 years ago, and it's still going strong. The heat from the light bulb eventually softened the glue, but that was easy to repair.

I took the top off of a dental floss container and attached it to my old sewing machine with masking tape - works great.
