Hi,
I have a Bernina 730, trying to decide what 2nd machine to add.
I was thinking of the bernina 430/ 450, started quilting so want more quilting stitches.
Next is the Viking DD, I like the length of the bed of machine.
Last choice is the Brother Quattro, machine.
I think the Brother is more user frinedly than maybe the DD.
I only had Bernina's and like the way it stitches nicely.

These are my 3 choices-- I appreciate all opions.
never had a viking- I have always had a bernina, and I had a brother machine.
I appreciate your advice.

The Bernina, can get without the emb unit as it can share the 730 emb unit.

I'm somewhat confused here
All three dealer's are great so that's not a problem.
The viking dealer have talked to many times they extend warranty to 2 yrs. Bernina and Brother is 5 yrs.

Thank you,
Donna

Donna, I would probably choose the 430/450 simply because (although both are wonderful machines) you'll be able to share all your presser feet, BSR foot, embroidery module, and hoops. Buying all that stuff gets really expensive!

I recently demo'd both the diamond and the brother 6000D. I really liked the Brother, its on my future wish list at the moment, as I'm still wrapping my mind around the cost. The Diamond also a very nice machine a bigger variety of hoops and feet for sure, but I'm a hopeless gadget case and I loved the camera, the stickers, and the way you can set the seam and the machine sews it on its own, where I would use it - who knows - but i just loved it. The screen is also heaps better than diamond in clarity and size, the needle threader was very nice.

I think CJ is right though if you already have a Bernina and you can use all your stuff - its a very big savings. I'm also not sure how you would go with .art designs transferred to other machines for embroidery.

A nice problem to have good luck.

Have you thought of the Babylock Ellisimo? (The object of my secret desire.) It is the stablemate of the Quattro, but it doesn't have the Disney patterns. Personally, I would probably never use the Disney ones, and would rather have extra adult patterns. OTOH, lots of people really like the Disney ones, so it is nice to have a choice.

I think as the formate the 430/450 might be exp, not sure though. When I go in I will ask all these questions.
But I would use my 730 for embroidery mostly.

I have been checking on Bernina's website, I don't want to buy the emb modle either, I thought if needed it could share with my 730 machine.
The Bernia feet are very expensive, have most of them.
Just bought the newer 38 foot for piping.
They had only the 38D foot, and it fits the 730!!

Will check out the 430/450 more.

Thank you,
Donna

I will than be all set in my machines!!
Lets hope!!
