I just made a muslin of a top with dolman sleeves. There is too much fabric over the chest area, but since the front is one big piece that includes the sleeves, I don't see a place to reduce that area on the pattern. Can anyone help?

Thanks !

Is the extra fabric because the sleeve is really deep? Here is a pattern I have that has a dolman sleeve. I removed some of the extra fabric that appears when my arms are down by extending the sideseam up & extending the sleeve seam towards the neckline until they intersected. I redrew the underarm curve using a saucer.

Even though it raises that underarm point, I still have plenty of room & there is less fabric because the underarm point is raised.

Pin out the excess on the muslin. My guess pinning the arm hole higher and taking some off the side seam will fix it.

Does this pattern require a large shoulder pad?
