Moving Sale! (Moderated by Deepika, Sharon1952)

And that's moving to a BIGGER location, as yet undisclosed.
All the farbrics were 40-70% off, the notions all seemed to be on sale and patterns were discounted. I can only recall the Burdas were $3.99 and Vogues $5.99.
I did my part to lighten the load when the move comes!

Are they still having the sale? I will for sure go tomorrow if they are.
The Fabricland in Maple Ridge and in Coquitlam closed in the last 6 months or so. Langley is pretty much the last one other than Abbotsford so I hope they really are moving and not closing. Maple Ridge and Coquitlam both said they were moving and weren't.

Sale is still on! I bought some very nice silk charmeuse, not cheap, but quite reasonably priced for very high quality fabric. Cheaper and nicer than the silk I bought in India, now that I think about it.
I had my suspicions about a permanent closure, but the move seems sincere as the staff said management is looking for 12,000 square feet.
I think more sewing goes on out in the Valley - the Mennonite and Sikh women make (or have a dressmaker create) a lot of their clothing.
If I had to drive to Langley or Surrey to get to a Fabricland....well....I'm probably going to keep driving and go to Fabricana in Coquitlam. Most likely I would just go to Dressew downtown as it is the most transit-accessible.

Thanks,
I went this weekend and spent too much money but got some really great bamboo/cotton/lycra fabric and about 5 Vogue patterns.
I hope they really are just moving.
I do go to Fabricana but they almost never have sales and that bugs me. I do like the fact that you get the pattern for half price if you purchase the fabric with it but...

Has anyone been here lately? Have their prices come down even more? I haven't been since my last post and I am wondering if they are still open and what the stock situation for fabric and patterns are like and if the sales are even better.
It is a bit of a drive for me.
TIA

I went on Wednesday - the stock is pretty low. Lots of quilting fabrics, not a great selection of garment fabrics, and not a strand of thread left. The patterns were all on for 2-4 each. I bought quite a few Burdas but the Vogues I wanted were gone. The ribbon, including petersham, was 70% off.

Thanks Vivienne,
I went about a week ago after calling to see if they were still open. They were all out of the patterns I wanted but I got three colours of bamboo/cotton/lycra jersey for 70% off. The ladies at Fabricland (the Abbotsford and Langley one) didn't really seem to know about the wonderfulness of the fabric. Fabricland headquarters had labeled it pj fabric. Oh well, I got 10 meters @ $6/meter. It is pretty much the only fabric I am sewing with for now.
I also got Bemberg lining for $3/m but I did not see the petersham and I wish I had as I have been wanting to try that it.
I heard today was their last day.

Eeek - I had better go take one last look! I asked if they had a new location picked out and the answer was not yet. So it does look like this is a permanent closure.
