I have made a scooped neck, sleeveless , sheath dress out of slinky knit and would like to add a cascading ruffle from the same fabric down one side . Any suggestions how to make the circular bias ruffle and how to apply it?

Hi Dorothy, here are some pictures of the pattern for a top I have that has a flounce attached to the front, I hope this helps.

Here is the flounce piece - the 2 blue lines on the piece (actually it's tape I used to make the flounce longer) go the same direction as the width of the fabric:

To make the flounce longer you will have to measure how long you want it to be and then adjust the inside of the circle to match the measurement. You can theoretically make a concentric circle if you need a really long piece.

Here is how the flounce is attached:

The directions say: press under seam allowance (on flounce) at outer edges and at the ends by 1/4". Topstitch edge with close zigzag stitching. Trim surplus allowance close to stitching. Then stitch flounce onto left half of front at placement line as illustrated. Press flounce over joining seam.
