hi every one i got 1 1/2yrd of pleather which smells like a new plastic shower curtain and is stiffish (not so much as a board or anything) it looks nice and it is backed with what looks like white felt or flannel. i do not know what to use it for. i want to make a suit with it as a cuff but am not sure if it is for use in clothing? if not i will use it for a pocketbook. i want to ask if any of you have sewn with this type of fabric for any tips and advice.

if a little voice inside says dont buy that fabric you have so much, you know your not pushing the cart with the loud wheel to the cutting counter fast enough!

In reply to ggexpansive
it sound like uphopstery fabric. I used this stuff to cover chairs, bed head boards. it would be to stiff to make a jacket out of. It would work for a purse.

thank you, i think will keep it for my bag project. i went back to the fabric store and they had some nice mock crock fabric and that was nice and smooth so maybe i will use it . my question then is has anyone made a garment with pleather and how should it be cared for? i want to make cuffs and lapel for my coat should they be removable?
