Does yours do an extra stitch? (Moderated by Pyrose)

Cross posting this here from sewing machines since the machine is also an embroidery machine
I've had a Janome 10001 for several years and am generally pleased with it but it does have one peculiarity. I'm trying to figure out if this is a glitch with my machine or the nature of the beast.
I normally sew so the machine stops with the needle in the fabric. Let's say I sew a seam and want to reverse sew at the end of a seam. I sew, I stop (needle is in fabric), I then press and hold the reserve button but before the machine reverses it sews one stitch forward. This makes it hard to stop in a precise spot. It also does the same thing with the tie off button. Is this normal
So 10001 owners could you please check your machines and report back to me.
Thank you,
Jan

I have the Janome 19606 computerized SM and that is one of my biggest complaints w/it. Since I cannot use the foot pedal, for medical reasons I only use the the S/S button. It always does one more stitch before it stops or reverses and I often run out of fabric at the end of the seam. I have to try to anticipate when I need to stop to get that 4 stitch auto reverse. I never had this issue w/my older mechanical one Janome.
