DD got a tiny crock pot along with her full sized one as a wedding gift. She couldn't find any use for it at all and it sat in the cupboard for a couple of years. Recently though, sh had a brain wave so good, she bought one for me for Christmas. It makes great porridge for one! At bedtime I put in some grain and water (it will take time to figure the right proportions) and plug it in. By morning I have delightful, hot porridge all ready to go. She also gave me a nice selection of grains - spelt, wheat, oats (whole) barley etc. that will be great fun to experiment with and come up with new and exciting combos. So if you have one of these little gadgets in a back cupboard, you might want to pull it out and give it a try.

I use mine for hot dip or lil' smokies in BBQ sauce. That's about it though. It doesn't have a heat setting, so you do have to unplug it after a while.

They are also good to use as a simmer pot with some potpourri and make the whole house smell great.

Mine's a perfect size for two boneless chicken breasts and a can of cream of mushroom soup (of course, with about two tablespoons of white wine tossed in). Just great for DH and me.

I just used mine for the first time, too.

I was making a large Christmas dinner-turkey, ham, the works. Since DH and DS are the only ones who like giblet gravy, I put the giblets, broth, seasonings and wine in the little pot and let them cook for hours with the turkey. When everything was ready, I used my 'wand' blender to chop up the giblets right in the pot and added some of the roux that was waiting for the rest of the gravy. Blended it all up and wah-lah -- giblet gravy for two!

I never knew there was a small crock pot. Could someone post a maker so that I might try to find one? Having porridge ready when I get up sounds too tempting!

I use it to keep anesthetic warm:) But my little one at home is for dip and keeping gravy warm at Thanksgiving. I have also used my melting pot with a little votive for keeping gravy warm at the table- looks very cool.

An online recipe check will yield some yummy dessert recipes that are perfect for the little pot. Mine is a Rival brand. Like Heidi, I use it most for gravy or to keep toppings like fudge or caramel warm. It is perfect for cooking for two....especially since I hate leftovers!
