I'm looking forward to taking a sewing class here at PR, especially since I'm a beginner and eager to learn. But until I can afford to take a class, I found a place that has free sewing classes! I thought I'd share it here:

I didn't see any threads about this place here on PR. Has anyone taken any of these tutorials before?

I found out about this website when I was looking for something on darts. The darts class was pretty informative. Keep in mind, though the free classes are tidbits of what is actually going on; you won't get a lot of information unless you pay for it.

If you do purchase a class, at the very reasonable price of $14.95, she will show you how to draft patterns. Which I think is an excellent start for a beginner because you can then see how patterns are made. Sarah has really done a lot of work on this and I really like her teaching style. I bought her Blouse class and found it very informative.

Her free online class on drafting shorts is packed with useful information though concise. They may be for gathered shorts, but one can definitely modify the pattern easy for pants with darts.

This class would be very helpful to those who are drafting pants from Mrs Stylebook, the Japanese pattern drafting magazine. The method is the same.

I agree: the prices per online class are VERY reasonable!

Thank you for the reminder! I believe, she has updated her website the last time I visited. Now, I will definitely bookmark it and recommend.
