I'm going to be on my feet for several days, all day, and will be wearing tan pants one day, a black silk dress with tan flowers on it with a tan sweater another day.

I need to find nice but comfortable shoes. Should I wear black shoes with the dress but tan shoes with the pants?

Another day I'm planning on wearing my black and white dress with my black boots (my boots are comfortable but casual.)

I don't want to have to pack too much! But I really need help in the shoe department. I find if shoes have a peep toe, that my toes get squeezed and pinched so those are out.

Are these appropriate for a dress, or are they too clunky?

I would suggest a plain classic pump in a comfortable heel height. You would match your pants / leg color if you want to look taller / leaner.

First I like the Clarks. I think they are dress appropriate.

Do you have to pack your clothes or will you be leaving from home each day?

Do you already have tan shoes?

What colour top and or accessories will you be wearing with the tan slacks?

If you do not need to pack, and have tan shoes, go ahead and wear them with the tan slacks. If not then use black in your top and/or accessories and wear the black shoes.

I think the Clarks would work if you wear a pair of black opaque tights with the dress. I agree that you will appear taller when matching the shoe color to your pant color. There are no set rules, it's what you are comfortable in. I'm on my feet all day for work and wear a shoe with a 2" heel height and purchase some of those cushy inserts and they really help. Good luck. I will tell you, if your feet hurt, everything hurts! I've been there and it's not fun. Good luck!

1- the clarks will look just fine with a dress. you may want to wear black support tights to help your legs stay comfy
2- try the pants on with the black shoes and with the boots I don't care so much what the rules are, use your eye and your judgement to decide what looks good

3 change your shoes in the middle of the day if you can...it help your feet feel comfortable. I pack light...but since my feet tend to hurt.. i wil pack extra shoes so i can change them and keep my feet from hurting.

4- ice your feet at the end of the day to shrink all of those overheated blood vessels

This may just be personal..but I tend to hate tan shoes and would go with brown

Whatever you choose, make sure they fit well and get some gel insoles.

The shoes are cute. If you worry they might be too clunky, have someone take a photo of you wearing the dress and shoes together. In the pic, if your eye is drawn right away to the shoes, or if they make your feet look enormous, then they're too much.
