Dear fellow sewers, especially those who buy online: where can I buy good quality beige cotton gabardine like the fabric used in the classic Burberry trench coats. Is it possible to get hold of the actual fabric in some online 'designer ends' type store? Or do I give up and buy wool gabardine instead?
Any suggestions gratefully received. I've been researching this for a while

I bought rain coating from Fabricmart a few months ago. Unfortunately I don't see them offer it anymore. One time I received an email from Michaels Fabrics (I am on their mailing list) about some Burberry rain coating they acquired, you can email them about putting you on their mailing list too.

I live in S. Korea w/ access to the gigantic fabric market in Seoul, I can always keep an eye out for you.

Burberry fabric is available at some stores. I bought a few yards at Mill End here in Portland last year. When I was there last week, I noticed they still have a bunch. They have tan, black, and (maybe) blue. I know they do mail orders, but you would have to call or email them, as they don't have an online store. I would also be happy to contact them for you if that is easier. I live just a few miles away and visit there at least twice a month.

Thank you both so much for your responses.
Ekfitz I'll be emailing MillEnd.
Thanks again
Val.

Val,

Did you get a response from Mill End yet? I was at the annex store today and saw that they had some of the fabric in both khaki and blue. If you need any help getting a swatch or anything, let me know. I would be happy to send you a swatch of the fabric I bought (and prewashed).

Erin
