After driving all the way out to Coquitlam today to pick up a $120 walking foot with 2 interchangeable snap-on feet, I opened the box tonight and discovered the straight-stitch sole -what I specifically bought the set for- has a rather important manufacturing defect; it only has one pin on one side to snap onto the walking foot with. The other side is just a round hole. Which means the foot wobbles all over the place and is totally useless. (The other foot has pins on both sides, as does the straight stitch foot on the box photo).

Which means another 2 hours spent tomorrow driving to Coquitlam & back to exhange or return the package.

Don't do what I did, and assume all is ok, sigh. OPEN the box at the store and check that both sides of the feet have pins!

I so really do not want to drive all the way there & back again. Sigh.

Not to mention all that petrol!

From now on, I'm opening anything & everything BEFORE I leave a store, lol!

I'll leave at 8am tomorrow, hopefully avoid traffic.

Remember, they only open at 9, so don't drive so fast again!

I need to stop for petrol (that's from years of living in the UK & Europe; "gas" is what you get from eating too many beans, lol!) and the station on my corner also has a Tim Horton's, so I'll also grab a brekkie bagel (with egg and cheese, of course!) and hell with it, a donut as well, so that will alleviate the pain.

All my years living overseas (16 years) and Texas (7 years), the one thing I missed the most? Tim Horton's!!!

Food, really the only consolation for being taken away from a sea of LMB sewing Don't try and speed home drive safely....try not to think of the stack of cut pieces saying "Sew me"

Well that was relatively painless! I left at just before 8am, stopped for gas & brekkie. There was very little traffic, and I spose just coz there was so little traffic, the little there was decided to do 120+k (in 80k zone).

Needless to say, I arrived rather earlier than intended, lol! The ladies saw me standing around outside and let me in early. They had one other box set in stock which had both pins on each foot, so we did a straight exchange. Whew!

The traffic was still fairly light on the way back, but going even faster! Until we all saw the flashing lights way up ahead. Sure 'nuf, someone had been nicked for speeding. It was amazing how sudden the traffic was sedately doing the posted 80k.

Stopped off at Safeway for next week's groceries...OMG I just remembered, it's a 4-day long weekend next week, woooohooooo!!!!...and was back home & back in my jammies by 10:15am. Not bad!
