Re: Question for Threads Magazine Archive DVD owners (posted on 6/10/10 8:44 AM ET)
I recently bought a used copy of the Threads Magazine Archive DVD on cragislist and am wondering if it's a bootleg. It works fine, but the label on the actual DVD is different from the one on the web site.

Instead of the colored spools of thread (that matches the cover), mine has a plain label with just text. And the DVD cover insert is just plain thin paper.

It very well may be that the actual DVDs differ from the one shown on the web site, but I'm curious if there are in fact bootlegs floating around. If so, I'd like to alert Taunton Press, but wanted to double check with otehr DVD owners.

My DVD has a colored label and colored insert.

I think you have a bootlegged copy.

Thanks for letting me know, I'll definitely e-mail Taunton to let them know this is happening!

Yes I second that. My disc sleeve cover has color spool printing and I believe even the disc does too. I don't recall.

I was wondering if somebody was going to bootleg this. As far as copying it I don't think it's any harder than a dvd or cd. With the high cost I anticipated somebody spotting it and bootlegging it. I'm not too surprised.
