I remember back in the dark ages I had a doll that taught little children how to dress themselves. The doll had something like pants that zipped, a shirt that buttoned, a vest that belted, shoes that tied, that kind of thing. All the clothes were attached to the doll so they wouldn't get lost but kids could practice fine motor skills while playing with the doll.
Anyone know of a pattern that I could use to make my granddaughter a doll for her 2nd birthday at the end of the month? (Nothing like last minute!! I'm also making pagent dresses for the older 2 girls due the same weekend!!)

I recall the doll you are talking about but I don't have a pattern suggestion.
I think you could use any stuffed doll pattern. My suggestion would be to sew all layers of the clothing and doll's skin in one side seam. That way you've attached the shirt, vest, pants ect all into the side seams, keeping them from getting lost as you mentioned.

That's basically what I was thinking, was just hoping for some more guidance than my own imagination since time is limited. Still hoping to find a pattern.

Dapper Dan was what my son had. He had pants you pull on, a zippered vest, and shoes to tie. I didn't know they still made these. The pattern does look a little different.
