I have a Janome Travelmate, and I've been trying to find out if I have to buy only Janome sewing feet and bobbins or whether I can use feet and bobbins by other companies. Help!

I've had no problem with using other generic snap-on feet on my Travelmate (or its twin the TB-12). If you buy Janome feet, make sure you get the feet for the vertical bobbin machines. The horizontal bobbin machines don't line up correctly with the feed dogs.

Interesting machine. I have lots of Janomes and I see that your machine has a thumb screw which will allow you to buy screw on feet. I own lots of these, such as welting feet. The one you really ought to have it the variable zipper foot. The long toe holds the fabric down much better than the junky clip on type. These feet are cheap and let you to a lot of different things. I have a # you can call to see about some and I will have to come back with that. You might want to check Ebay, but make sure you know if you are high or short shank. Your machine looks high but I could be wrong.

Yes, definitely figure out the kind of shank this machine has. Once that is done you can buy all sorts of generic feet online.
Sewing Machines Plus has a ton of different presser feet, you can even see pictures of what the different kinds of shanks look like. I have purchased sewing machines as well as presser feet from them, great people and service.
Don't forget you can always use snap on feet if you have the adapter for them. I personally prefer individual feet vs. snap on but it's your choice.
