I have previously made roman shades which turned out okay but now want to make triple pinch pleated drapes for my family room. Anyone know of some good resources i.e. books, videos on how to make these? Thanks.

The Singer book "More Sewing for the Home" has excellent directions. I have the older edition, but I see there is a newer one available. Also Sunset's "Curtains, Draperies, and Shades".

I'll agree with this....I just made drapes and used the Singer book, "More Sewng for the Home" or "Sewing for the home". ONe of the books has the do it yourself pleats and the other shows how to use the pleater tape. I prefer to do the traditional method with buckram. You have more control over the pleats.

I used the pleater tape from Atlanta thread & sewed over 26 yards of drapery fabric for pinch pleated drapes...I really liked it & I liked how they turned out...
I just won't be looking at any "mauve" fabric again, for quite a while...
I picked up a home deco book
on curtains, that I really liked at Loew's Home Improvement store..Daruiz I Will get back to you on the name of it....

To make my pleats more precise I also used an iron-on interfacing as reinforcement on the upper edge, of the drapery fabric, across the top edge prior to sewing on the pleater tape..I made it approx.
6" wide as the tape was around 4.5 inches wide.
edited to explain positioning reinforcement interfacing.
