I purchased 2 sized patterns for S4789

according to the measurements on the package, I need to cut a size 14 for the top but a size 22W for the bottom

Is there anything special I need to do during cutting and/or construction considering the vast difference in the sizes??

I would definitely do a muslin first, grading between the two sizes at your best guess but leaving at least a 1 inch seam allowance, so that you can fine-tune the fit - you want to make sure the place where garment curves matches the curves on you - not too high or too low, if that makes sense. Also, don't forget to true up the seams when you're done fitting (i.e., making sure the front and the back side seams are the same length, and also each side is the same length) (don't ask me how I know this piece of advice, LOL!!).

Are you planning to make the jumper or the coat?

This is one of those times when a mock up is in order.

I would trace each size, then lay them over each other.

You will need to measure where you get wider, so you know where to move out from the size 14.

Is your waist also 14 or somewhere in between? If in between, then it will be a bit easier because you can then do two moderate gradings instead of one big one.

Also pay very close attention to the garment finished hip size on the pattern piece. Compare it to a well-fitting garment of similar style. The pattern may end up giving you way more ease than you need or want and I wouldn't be surprised if you only have to go up to sz 20 or even 18. My hip measurement fits size 10 but I never make anything in that size. Even fitted skirts I make in size 6. For a looser skirt I fit fine in size 4 (which is the size I make on top, so no grading required.)

Watch your curve at the high hip and for that reason, I'd do what everyone else has suggested--make a muslin/mockup.
