Would love to hear your suggestions on what type of buttons to put on a black cashmere coat. Here's a
post and photo of the fabric and pattern.
Thank you for your help.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to god. And

I agree it should be a pretty button. I usually have had better luck finding the perfect button after the coat is made. But if you are planning to make bound buttonholes, you would need to have them chosen from the start.
I like the buttons to have a tailored look but on the feminine side. Skea top choice would be great. Also there are some nice wood or horn buttons. I would pick a shank style where you don't see the holes. Check out M&J trims for ideas. But I find I need to touch the buttons vs ordering over the internet.
You're on the East Coast. It seems like NY or Philly would offer some wonderful selections.

What about a vintage belt buckle? Here are a few examples from some Etsy shops:
butterfly

Art Deco w/ amethyst

bakelite

I used a belt buckle to close a shawl-collared coat that I "stole" from my mom's closet.

That bakelite buckle is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.
