I am thinking of posting a sort of buying/selling guide for vintage machines...
Like a 'How to' for craigslist and personal sales.
But this may be conceited of me...
So, I ask you:

Should I write it?

This one, that one, and a bunch of other ones!
(though the herd is getting more streamlined)

I would love to have something like that to use as a reference. I'm sure many others would too. Since vintage machines are like potato chips and there is so much fun to be had hunting for them it would be great to have pointers from someone in the know. What kind of things were you thinking of putting in?

Please do-I have two vintage machines now in the herd and have been thinking obsessively about inspecting a couple of handcranks that are in an antique store I was in the other day. I have a road trip planned today which includes picking up my treadle head that went in for a spa day to address a couple of issues. Funny thing is I don't get to sew much with this remodel still ongoing but seem to encounter vintage machines as of late. Please please share any of your experiences with these old beauties that get so much disrespect.

I can't think of anyone (other than a SMG) who is more qualified to do so, GothDom. I think too, this is a great idea!

Yes, please do write it. Will you include sm other than Singer & Kenmores? Be very interested in reading it.
Thank you for considering this project!

THe topic title.. alongside your name..

But this is a fab idea Gothdam.. why not.. We have use for sewing information on these boards now and then...

A lot more talk about Craigslist findings lately.. so a thread like that would be timely.. And others could add any info they might want to share.. I don't think its conceited in the least.. and who cares anyhow.....Its the same as just waiting for someone to ask about CL... and having to post an reply.. no difference really.. A guide would just help us get started buying on CLs.. a more on topic topic..Write it..

Yes, great idea !!

Here's my auction tip: carry an extension cord with you so that you can plug in machines. Not every barn/hall has close by outlets and the auction staff get annoyed when you move stuff out of the lot numbers.
