I'm making a prom dress for a client, and the bodice is covered in embellished lace. So far, I'm very happy with it, but wondering if you think I should add a few more "sparkles" to fill in the empty spaces? I asked the client, and she said it was up to me, and she trusts my professional opinion. I think it looks nice the way it is... but, what do I know?

That's really pretty! I probably wouldn't, but that may be because the open space is mostly over the breasts, and I suspect too much sparkle there would give a "sequin spangled tits" effect.

Agreed...I think it's perfect. Any more sparkles would perhaps end up on the "headlights"

I think it looks perfect, too -- tasteful and feminine.

I may be the wrong sort of person to ask since in ballroom, more is always better. Since this is not really worn for a performance, it can be much more subtle, but I would want to be putting some darker amethyst coloured tiny rhinestones nestled somewhere within or close to the flowers.

I have thought of that sort of a bodice for a ball gown and this lovely one is definitely making me put that close to the top of my list. Very pretty.

Also, do you know what kind of jewelry she will be wearing? That might help you decide so you don't end up with the dress competing with the accessories.

I think it's perfect as is!

But then, I'm the sort of person who, every time I think I should add more of something, end up realizing that I was questioning it because what I really should have been doing is taking away some of what was already there

For a prom dress, I vote for 'perfect as is'. (I can visualize tourist's point for a competition.)

With a great wardrobe that's still in the flat-fabric stage.
