Hi,
And thanks in advance! I remember a while back someone posted a link to a tutorial on conditioning silk duppioni-- the tutorial covered softening the fabric, lightening the color and reducing the shine. I thought it was on Pam Erny's blog, but after poring over it earlier, I can't find it there (it may be, and I just can't find it). The tutorial included a number of conditioned silk shirts, including some men's camp shirts using the techniques.

I know this is a tall order, but does anyone remember this posting and can share a link?

Thanks!

I remember it, and it was on Pam's blog. It's in those archives somewhere ... but I didn't bookmark it specifically.

I don't really make mistakes ... I create "learning opportunities"! Murphy says: The better you match the thread to the fabric, the more likely you will need to rip some stitches out! I spend more quality time with my seamripper than I like ...
Yes, I DO love fabric!!

How to Distress Silk

(FYI, if you go to the "advanced search" option on google, you can tell it to search within a specific domain or subdomain.)

Crazygrad- You may be referring to me. I distressed some dupioni for a project that I reviewed and posted the link there. There are some before and after pics too. I had lots of fun with the process and I hope to be doing it again with some higher quality silk. My Review

Did anyone else have heart palpitations reading this?! I do admire the inventiveness and spirit of experimentation, but I feel a little bit like Linus in the Peanuts Hallowe'en movie: "You didn't tell me you were going to KILL it!" All those luscious colors down the drain. (sob)
